I trained at Craiglockhart College of Education in Edinburgh, Scotland, from where I
graduated in 1978 with Distinction in Primary Education and Merit in Religious Education.
To
date, I have:
31 years
teaching experience, teaching children at all stages of primary education, during which time I have undertaken extensive additional
training and qualifications in several areas of additional support needs, as well as keeping up to date with developments
in mainstream education. I have always been committed to continuing professional development.
taught for 18 months in a school for children with severe and complex disabilities
gained several years experience as a Speech, Language and Communication Teacher in special classes
within mainstream primary schools in Midlothian and Edinburgh
provided outreach support to schools across Midlothian

involvement with ICAN, a charity which supports children's communciation.
I am now
a member of ICAN Staff Bank and can deliver staff training packages, on behalf of ICAN, to nurseries, schools or other early

additional qualification in TLP - the first Certified Provider-Bone Conduction (CP-BC) of
The Listening Program® in Scotland - giving me access
to the highest level of technology, including TLP Bone Conduction, an exciting new development in the Advanced
Brain Technologies toolbox. I have used this technology with my pupils in a previous post in a primary school and
have several clients now using it also and gaining positive results.
I am also a trained Johansen Sound Therapist.

about this subject.
This background
of educational experience and knowledge enables me to offer staff training, consultancy on children’s
educational issues as well as sound therapy.
