What
can Sound Therapy do for me? It can help you and your family realise your full
potential.
Sound Therapy trains the brain to improve the auditory
skills needed to effectively listen, learn and communicate. The Listening Program ® (TLP) uses high quality audio CDs that integrate specially produced acoustic music, primarily classical, with innovative
sound processing techniques that exercise the pathways between the brain and the ears. Who can benefit?
Anyone from age 2
to 92 can benefit from improved listening function, auditory processing, communication skills and relief from ‘toxic
noise.’ The earlier you start, the more productive and beneficial the outcome will be.
Initial
Consultation
£75 The
initial consultation is a fact-finding session to decide whether sound therapy would be an appropriate intervention as a means
of addressing your concerns. It also gives you a chance to ask questions concerning The Listening Program.
Auditory Processing Screening only £125 If you wish only to have auditory processing function checked, I would use SCAN , a
method of screening for auditory processing difficulties. A dichotic listening test may also be useful. Please
ask for more information.
Pre-therapy Comprehensive
Assessment £150-£200
Extensive assessments including auditory processing screening, fine and
gross motor control, balance, co-ordination, laterality, visual perception and language checks will be selected depending
on the client's presenting challenges. On
analysis of these assessments, a brief summary report is written and a listening schedule is devised to address the individual
needs of the client. The cost of this additional work is included in the above prices.
Induction
£60 Once
assessments are completed, the purpose of the final meeting is to make sure you are comfortable with the equipment and clearly
understand what the programme involves and how to use it. We will discuss ear dominance, the ideal listening environment,
your listening schedule and the importance of fitting your listening into your daily routine in order to see the programme
through.
The Listening Program by 'Distance'
£150 If you opt for The Listening program, this can be done by 'distance'
using phone and email to communicate throughout your programme. There is a flat fee of £150 for this option, for
the first 6 months. This can be reviewed at the end of the first 6 month period if on-going support is required.

Reviews
£60-£75 Reviews take place every 12 weeks for TLP. They last
about an hour - an hour and a half. It is helpful to to check progress in those areas of concern first highlighted during
pre-therapy assessments and discussions. Given this information the programme will be altered to ensure that maximum
benefit is being achieved.
