Music aids

stroke recovery

Wednesday 20 February 2008
BBC announces details of a Finnish study which shows that early intervention with music aids the recovery for stroke patients.
Finnish study

This study talks about patients making better progress in their recovery from stroke simply by playing random music from their own personal collection.

Imagine then, what the structured programme of psycho-acoustically engineered music in The Listening Program could do for stroke victims.  Its classical music, which is recorded live, systematically stimulates the different functions of the auditory processing system.  Thereby, it helps to improve the ability of the brain to receive, process, store and use the information picked up from the environment, whether that is language, music or sounds of any description.
